About Michelle Clarke: Michelle’s experience in the Early Childhood sector extends beyond 20 years. Opening her first childcare centre in 2005, Michelle has successfully developed, acquired, established and operated many childcare centres across a range of highly diverse and competitive locations, providing her with a comprehensive insight into the complex nature and needs of the early childhood sector. Michelle’s extensive knowledge of childcare Regulatory, Learning and Quality Frameworks, combined with her ability to identify and implement operational efficiencies, resulted in rapid growth and sustained high occupancy across all her Services. Additionally, Michelle has an extensive knowledge of childcare industry reporting and end-user operating systems. Michelle’s continued commitment to delivering high quality outcomes for children and best practice standards in Early Childhood is evident in the high quality ratings her Services have consistently achieved and Michelle actively continues to advocate and implement the highest of standards at every level of operations. Mayfield Childcare Limited: Michelle co-founded Mayfield Childcare Limited which acquired 18 childcare centres and listed on the Australian stock market in November 2016. Michelle became an Executive Director of the company and assisted with quality, compliance, acquisitions and general operational oversight. Michelle resigned from her role of Director in March 2023 to focus on her own centres and personal endeavours. Advocacy Achievements: In 2017 Michelle was invited to join the Advisory Board of Smiling Mind, a not-for-profit organisation that delivers meditation and mindfulness programs designed for children and adults. Michelle has also participated in research studies and pilot programs to build awareness and support for trauma informed practice in the Early Education sector, in conjunction with Monash University and the Alannah and Madeline Foundation. Michelle continues to participate in ongoing research and pilot programs as the need for trauma informed practice in Early Childhood has increased in recent years. Consultancy: Michelle’s experience, achievements and overall knowledge of the Early Childhood Sector are highly regarded and respected. As such, Michelle provides consulting services for prospective and existing Approved Providers across a range of areas including licensing, operational efficiencies, quality initiatives, assessment and rating advice, and advocacy awareness.
