Michel M. Dard, DDS, MS, PhD was trained in dentistry and oral medicine in France (Universities of Bordeaux and Nantes) and at New York University, College of Dentistry where he served as a faculty during several years. Having started his corporate career in the pharmaceutical industry (Merck, Germany and USA) Michel M. Dard worked in parallel during a couple of years at INSERM-NIH (National Institute of Health & Medical Research, Paris, France) and at the Research and Innovation Directorate General (European Commission, Brussels, Belgium). He joined Institut Straumann (Basel, Switzerland) in 2003. After acting as the Head of PreClinical Research he became the Global Medical Director of the Straumann Group. He is since 2017 an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University, College of Dental Medicine (New York, USA) and an Affiliate Professor at the University of Washington (Seattle, USA). He is a pioneer in Dental Communities of Practice (CoP) management and real-world evidence (RWE) clinical activities and disruptive clinical development and continuous education. Michel M. Dard authored more than 170 peer-reviewed international publications and book chapters or monographs. He issued a major methodological textbook with title “Surgical Research in Implant Dentistry” (Springer Nature) in 2023. He lectures globally at most noticeable offline and online international congress, symposiums, University seminars and before scientific societies on medical devices, biomaterials, tissues regeneration, implant dentistry and surgical & oral rehabilitation science.
