I have been working in the business and individual income tax fields since November 1994. I primarily work with businesses and their owners in the government contracting and private client service industry areas with the goal of maximizing cash flow to the owners. I also work with many of the office's ESOP clients. I added licensing and expertise in business valuation in 2001. I have completed business valuations for estate, gift and S Corporation built in gains. My industry concentrations have been in closely held entities that own real estate and securities. I accepted a partnership offer extended by my peers in November of 2013. I have enjoyed the new opportunities and responsibilities that have come with the new position. The best aspect has been spending more time with the firm's clients learning about their goals and asperations. On a personal note, gardening is going well with blueberries, strawberries, and blackberries all doing extremely well. I just started a few raspberrys which are growing rapidly yet it will be a year or more before I can taste the results.
I have the benefit of assisting staff to learn and grow into amazing professionals as well as meet individuals and business owners whom I can help navigate the ever changing income tax code. My areas of focus have involved clients participating in the real estate, government contracting, and technology industries.
I work with individuals and businesses to solve income tax problems and comply with income tax requirements. A few of the issues that I deal with regularly are R&D credits, empowerment zone credits, nexus issues, UNICAP/263A, and change in methods. I primarily work with government contractors and clients in the real estate industry.
