I have found a place for me at Carolina Canners as their Project Engineer & Facilities Maintenance Manager. The primary objective of the Project Engineer role is to identify opportunities that exist within production to raise the efficiency rate within a set ROI period. Once identified, the next steps are to plan, get funding, approvals, develop SOWs, source contractors and manage the project to completion and turnover. It is a challenging but often rewarding job that permits me to see the firsthand fruits of my labor. My role as the Facilities Maintenance Manager is to guide the facilities staff in improving and maintaining the current three facilities to a level acceptable to FDA and AIB standards. This is accomplished through training, a CMMS PM system and industry standard practices. Life is great and short-lived so spend your time wisely... work/life balance is important and a large part of success in both areas.
Working as a team member on various installation crews in both commercial and defense realms to successfully bring new equipment online. Being able to recognize and facilitate corrections of equipment legacy failure issues to elevate MTBF numbers to respectable levels. Implementation of design (programming or electrical) to insure properly working equipment which has significantly decreased service calls on these machines. Working with off-site engineers, I have been able to improve electrical designs for efficiency and reliability goals on site. PLC experience here is primarily Siemens equipment (PLC , HMI) with a few A/B SLC500 machines here and there.
Partnered with an existing company to form a new company known as ATS Fire Protection. Specialties include the Sale, Design, Installation (some areas), Testing & Commissioning of high pressure water mist systems. Also available to train end users on system function and maintenance of same systems.
Managed a department consisting of project managers, inventory specialists and designers that handled non-standard type systems which placed special demands that could not be met by the typical path through a project network. These additional demands were typically due to project size, complexity, timeline, physical locations or combinations therein. Most often times, product design changes were needed to conform to special environmental or installation requirements.
Responsibilities included managing a department of engineers and designers that handled the designs of complex high pressure water mist systems from inception to completion. New product development and 'value' engineering current product lines were within the responsibility of this position.
Responsible for managing the support staff to distribution chain as well as the field service work scheduling. Workable pricing strategies with Excel/VBA based distribution sales tools were developed by me and one other that became the backbone for all processes from sales to shipment.
Worked in a team oriented environment to design and build prototype vehicles and products for the military. Product design based on customer and mission requirements. I played a key role within the team for integration with current vehicle platforms being used by the military as well as development of new vehicle platforms for future contracts. First introduction to SolidWorks and AutoCAD software suites.
