Managed all backend internal systems and lead a massive internal project that was instrumental in reducing technical debt and enabling rapid prototyping by moving all systems from a on premise and hosted bare metal lab to a multi region private cloud spanning two continents. Additionally migrated almost all applications so a single federated authentication system and managed any remaining systems with the support of the team. This project ultimately saved millions annually, whereas significantly reducing our OPEX and making capital investments in new services much easier. In total 194 applications were managed personally before handing them off to global operations members worldwide. Lastly finishing with an extensive system that allowed us to reduce both internal and external training times from weeks to days through a flexible automation system utilizing openstack murano, heat, ansible, salt stack, and rigorous management of capacity allocations and demand cycles to provide the best cost for the experience. This allowed for very easy testing of integration of ISV/Partner systems, functional testing, and a full CI/CD system capable of testing cloud native apps for hybrid and multi cloud deployments.
