Michael Moore is President of Lockton's Fort Worth, Texas office. He is an 8th generation Texan who works with his family on various ranching, energy, renewable energy and agricultural endeavors on their family land dating back to the mid 1800's. His family founded CH Guenther & Sons which prior to selling was the longest single family-owned business in Texas. Prior to joining Lockton, Michael spent 10 years developing a property & casualty division specializing in assisting businesses and high net worth families across the United States in financing their risks through the achievement of results that positively impacted their bottom line. His focus was utilizing his expertise and that of his teams to meet the risk management and risk finance needs of clients primarily concentrated in the energy, real estate, manufacturing and wholesale distribution sectors. Michael sees the world of risk through the lens of a businessman and has worked alongside many successful C-level, board members and entrepreneurs running multi-million and multi-billion-dollar operations. Prior to his career in insurance, Michael co-founded an ecotourism company in Honduras, worked in state politics and consulted for the largest defense contractor in the United States. Through his expertise, Michael helps clients protect their most valuable assets – their people, their property and their reputation. His role as a strategic leader of the world’s largest privately owned, independent insurance broker provides Michael with the opportunity to work with a team of experts and help clients solve their most pressing business challenges. Michael consults with and supports numerous not for profit organizations and holds several current and past board positions focusing on cystic fibrosis, early childhood education, learning disorders and public and civic endeavors. Michael has formed or co-founded multiple investment vehicles with a focus on the energy, renewable energy, technology, real estate, medical & supplements, financial services, livestock and beverage industries. As a global professional services firm, Lockton specializes in risk management, employee benefits and retirement services. As part of the world’s largest independently held insurance broker, Michael answers to no one but his clients. Michael spends his time outside of work with his wife Shannon and their two daughters. Responsible for developing and running the P&C division of the Gus Bates Company overseeing both the commercial and personal lines operations. He specializes in real estate, oil and gas, non-profits/schools, contractors, manufacturers and architects/engineers, but has experience working with clients in many different industries. His experience with insurance and risk management allows him to craft meaningful coverage and service plans to help protect a client’s businesses in the event of a loss.
Michael was responsible for producing new business and providing his expertise on the rentention of many of the firms larger clients. He generated new business throughout the state of Texas, with a focus on reaching middle to large size companies. He managed a team of professionals responsible for procuring and handling the insurance needs of his clients, specializes in property & casualty, employee benefits, life and health .
Executed strategic communications and advised his clients in government relations, event planning, marketing, research and analysis. His expertise in managing teams responsible for conducting comprehensive media outreach events and activities helped his clients obtain favorable positioning with the public, opinion leaders and decision-makers around the world.
Mr. Moore served as legislative aide to a Texas State Senator. He was responsible for campaign media outreach and during legislative sessions, he staffed the Senate Finance Committee, researching and drafting legislation and specialized in Higher Education, Natural Resources, Parks and Wildlife, Jurisprudence, State Affairs, International Relations and Trade Committees, Oil and Gas, Insurance, and Tort Reform.
