Dr. Michael Grant is a licensed Clinical Psychologist (SC #1071) whose work over the past 20+ years has included direct provision of behavioral healthcare services in both private solo and group practice settings and within the Veterans Health Admininistration (VHA) at Northport VAMC in Northport, NY. He is a Diplomate in The Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy, and is currently in the certification process of The American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP), Board of Behavioral and Cognitive Psychology.     As a Primary Care Mental Health Integrated (PCMHI) psychologist, provided integrated Behavioral Health consultation and interventions to assist primary care team members with identification, treatment, and management of mental health and behavioral medicine conditions in the veteran population. Conducted in-person, telephone, and telehealth 30-minute Collocated Collaborative Care Functional Assessments including evidence-based measurement via PHQ-9, PCL, AUDIT-C, and CRSE (Comprehensive Suicide Risk Evaluation), etc. Offered just-in-time curbside consultations to primary care team and provided liaison/consultation, crisis management, and patient care education services in primary care meetings, PCMH clinic huddles, and via Microsoft TEAMs interface. Provided patient follow-up and evidence-based brief, 30-minute therapy and Motivational Interviewing (MI) techniques/sessions as needed for both general behavioral health problems (depression, anxiety, PTSD, etc.) and special areas of behavioral medicine (chronic pain, obesity, and sleep problems). Consulted in various capacities with academic and healthcare organizations including Georgia State University, Emory University School of Medicine, The Medical College of Georgia, Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital, Children’s Healthcare of Alabama, and Tenet Health System. Coordinated executive/leadership development, training development & delivery, and research project management at the Medical College of Georgia. At MCG, and in a variety of other settings, conducted original research, resulting in 17 publications in nationally respected, peer-reviewed healthcare journals, encyclopedias, or business magazines. In addition to work with for-profit enterprises, consulted with non-profit organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and a variety of federal and state governmental organizations including NASA (Johnson and Stennis Space Centers) following the Columbia disaster. In 1986, founded and was the first President of a 501-c-3 non-profit corporation formed to develop a leadership training center northeast of Atlanta. While engaged in this project, worked in various training roles in the Atlanta district of a multi-national non-profit organization.
