As Director I have been responsible for all IT functions within the global Enterprise. This has included: • Creation of an IT organization that connects to its internal business partners and collects their needs, shaping these into initiative with defined value and clear business outcomes. • Development of an IT strategic plan that focuses on what it takes for the Corporation to win. • Guidance and oversight of the creation of an ERP Strategy and of the RFP process that followed. This initiative included the presentation to the Board of Directors throughout the process and the ultimate recommendation. • Responsible for the creation of an IT Security Framework and plan. This included incident handling, awareness training and Monitoring & Logging initiatives. • Design, implementation and operation an Enterprise Security Policy, IT Key Controls, and GCC controls framework. Each of these included associated procedures. • Design, development and operation of a Technology Investment Council that provides oversight to the portfolio of initiatives that looks to use technology for the resolution of business problems. • Creation of a Business Value Model that ties technology initiatives to tangible business value (income statement).
As Director I have been responsible for all IT functions within the Enterprise. This has included: • Creation of a Shared Services organization that takes advantage of skill sets and expertise from within each of our regional offices. • Development of an IT strategic plan that is business aligned • Project Management of key Enterprise initiatives. This has included the acquisition of two companies and the integration of their financial systems as well as the implementation of the ERP system in our Brazil operation. • Responsible for the Enterprise IT Risk management framework and analysis • Design, implementation and operation of an Enterprise Security Policy and associated procedures • Creation of the Security Incident Handling Policy, its procedures, training and operations. • Development and operation of the PMO function (processes, operations and reporting) for both IT and Finance. This has led to a more business aligned portfolio of projects and clear processes and deliverables. • Support, enhancement and access control for the Global ERP system • Design and deployment of the IT SOXS Compliance program • Design and provide training to the enterprise on Security Awareness (Information Security and Acceptable Use)
Responsible for the support of HR, JD Edwards, the Administrative Services organization and EnCana’s data warehouse. With 72 staff members under my direction this project intensive area allowed me to learn a portion of the business that I hadn’t been exposed to earlier. Created the HR Strategic Plan in partnership with the HR Leadership team. This included protection schemes for PII, overall security strategies and awareness programs as well as plans for increased self-service and tighter integration between data silos. Designed, planned, created and provided project management for the Enterprise Data Warehouse. This initiative would deliver reporting across data elements not previously available. This included database security, development methodologies and including code protection and security. 3 Participated in the development of the SOX compliance program. This included Legal, Regulatory and compliance requirements. Responsible for the ERP system operations including the outsourcing contracts, performance management, access control frameworks and change management. This included a redesign of the outsourcing arrangement with Accenture and the rebuilding of the relationship. Budget for the area was around $19MM.
