A key priority for Michael in his role as Chief Executive Officer is leading on the execution and delivery of IDA Ireland’s organisational strategy: Driving Recovery and Sustainable Growth 2021-2024, which will be delivered through a focus on five pillars: Growth, Transformation, Regions, Sustainability, and Impact. Prior to this role, Michael was a member of IDA’s Executive Leadership team with global responsibility for Life Sciences (Biopharmaceutical and Medical Technologies) and as organisational lead on Talent, Transformation, and Innovation agenda at IDA Ireland. Michael led on the development and execution of organizational and divisional strategies across the Lifesciences sector in addition to evolving Irelands value proposition on Talent, Transformation, and Innovation to enable and support foreign direct investment. IDA are present in all major global markets through a network of 28 offices worldwide working on a daily basis to win FDI into Ireland while supporting and enhancing existing clients and Ireland’s overall pro-business ecosystem.

I lead IDA's Global operations Lifesciences team ( Biopharmaceutical & Food and Medical Technologies sectors) & organizational lead on Talent, Transformation and Innovation agenda at IDA. The Lifescience global team has responsibility for proactive client management, business development and related marketing and value proposition development. The focus of the Talent, Transformation and Innovation team is to evolve, influence and partner on National value propositions and sectoral initiatives to enable and support our FDI clients and sectors response to current and emerging technological, skills and global business dynamics. The role involved interpretation and implementation of architectural concepts both in respect to new buildings (e.g. Conway Institute and Marks & Spencer HQ in London) and refurbishment projects (e.g. Enterprise Ireland). The scope of works was predominately architectural fit out related. The following lists the responsibilities of the role, Project Management & planning Client and Consultant Management Provide technically support to clients, architects & manufacturing Conduct Site surveys Prepare approval drawings for client/ architects Prepare Bill of Quantities, manufacturing and site drawings
The role involved the development and implementation of Global Corporate strategies through a variety of projects including, 1) outsourcing and divestiture of operations 2) redesign of international supply chain operations and 3) the integration of acquired businesses. Responsibilities as Project Manager included the following, Develop business cases Defined project scope, plan and budget Ensure project objectives are achieved, i.e. on schedule, with-in budget, and no customer impact Team setup, integration, management and mentoring – including external partners Identification and management of project risks Continuous communication to senior VP and stakeholders
