Started a Substack blog in January 2025 with the goal of being a better science communicator, and reaching people outside of peer review manuscripts. Actively write blogs (~monthly) alongside other communication tactics across social media platforms (namely Instagram Reels, TikTok, BlueSky). Primarily speak/write about contemporary topics in Population Health Sciences, Health Equity, and more.
-Awarded competitive NIH fellowship grant which will supported pre-doctoral training and research for my project titled "Assessing the Impact of Discrimination in Healthcare on the Cardiovascular and Cognitive Health of Aging Black Adults". -Designed and conducted study employing advanced longitudinal data analysis methods on survey data -Evaluated and synthesized literature on the state of measuring healthcare discrimination -Presented findings at 5 national conferences including American Heart Association Scientific Sessions and Gerontological Society of America Annual Meeting, where my work received the Person-in-Training Award for best student paper
-Awarded a Research Supplement to Promote Diversity in Health-Related Research Program on a parent R01 grant titled "Integrating Risk Trajectories and Social Determinants to Enhance Cardiovascular Risk Assessment in Older Adults" PI: Dr. Matthew E. Dupre. -Designed and executed longitudinal analyses, applying modern epidemiological methods such as group-based trajectory modeling and Cox proportional hazards methods
Served a two year term as a member of the board of directors and chair of the Student Committee.
-Offered subject-expert insights on the clinical impact of care programs, with the goal of enhancing service delivery and patient outcomes. -Conducted comprehensive literature reviews to determine best practices and validate successful interventions within target populations.
-Co-wrote and edited industry-focused grant, focusing on pilot programs contributing to company's financial growth. -Assisted in the ideation process for growth strategies and income diversification.
