I’ve been living in Spain for over 30 years. In 2000, I founded Broteli, specializing in purchasing liquidations and used stocks of electronics—everything from mobile phones and tablets to laptops. One of my most enjoyable achievements was designing and bringing Hello Kitty mobile phones to market, selling over 500,000 units across 13 countries. Broteli recently reached its 25th anniversary - something which makes me very proud. As someone said to me many years ago: 'En España, él que aguanta triunfa' - a bit similar to Churchill's 'You only have to persevere to conquer.' Over the years, I’ve built strong relationships with mobile operators, electronics manufacturers, and distributors. They know me for my honesty, straight-talking approach, creativity, and down-to-earth attitude - qualities that have got me this far, so I won't be changing them now. However my biggest challenge wasn’t business—it was mosquitoes. They love me, and I’ve spent years battling the relentless itching from their bites. So I developed Bite Sucker: a simple, reusable, chemical and electric shock-free solution that alleviates, or completely removes, the itching from mosquito bites, as well as wasp and bee stings. It works better than any other product I have found on the market. I know it sounds cheesy, but Bite Sucker has become a mission for me. Millions of people suffer worldwide just like I did, and I want to help. That’s why we also collaborate with Malaria No More, donating a portion of every sale to support children in Africa affected by malaria. 2026 will be our first summer selling Bite Sucker, now a registered medical device. So far we have 180 points of sale agreed for Spain, the UK and also Morrisons in Gibraltar. I have been working in the mobile phone sector since 1999. Broteli specialises in the purchase of mobile phone and tablet excess inventory, 14 day returns, DOAs, EOL, right through to used phones, obsolete, damaged and BER. We have also many years' experience in mobile and tablet licensing and co-branding. We were license holders for Hello Kitty for several years - designing and bringing to market seventeen Special Edition Hello Kitty mobile phones to eleven countries selling one million handsets during that time, working closely with partners such as Orange, Sony, Nokia, Samsung, Alcatel, ZTE and Carphone Warehouse.
