I believe that my interpersonal communication skills, strong work ethic, dependability, and attention to detail make me a great candidate for a position in this field. I have experience with operating systems, networking, system administration, and database systems from my internships and education. When I interned with the Western Dubuque School District's Technology Department I realized I had a passion for Information Technology and being able to help those around me. I enjoy being challenged and expanding my knowledge of the field.
Employed as a student employee by the College of Humanities, Arts, and Sciences Technology Department since May 2018. The main aspects of this job include instillation of hardware and troubleshooting software. This position requires students to be independent when choosing and working on tasks. This requires a great deal of dependability, decision making, and critical thinking. While working in this capacity has learned to combine technical competency with dependability as well as understanding the importance of strong communication skills.
Worked May-August in the summers of 2015, 2016, and 2017 as an intern for the Western Dubuque Community School District's Administration's Technology Department. While in this internship tasks assigned included imaging teacher's computers for the coming school year, setting up new computers and other technological equipment for classrooms, and facilitating basic Windows and basic hardware trouble shooting. Other skills learned included pulling cable and installing new routers, wall outlets, security cameras, ect. Achieved a strong work ethic and the knowledge of the importance of delegation for organizational effectiveness from this position.
