Responsible for the organization and management of the Massachusetts State Lottery (MSL), including profit and gross revenues goals, compliance, technical operations including data center, disaster recovery center, communications, digital and social media, and gaming system software/hardware. MSL has revenues of $5+billion with 380+team members and a statewide network of 7,500+ business owners ranging from national convenience stores, gas stations, restaurants and corner stores. Primary contact for legislative matters and hearings. Over the last five fiscal years we have achieved the four highest net profit, gross revenue and prize totals in the 47 year history of the MSL. Programs were halted in August 2025 due to cuts in federal funding. Hired as CEO for mid-sized non-profit experiencing cash flow and budgetary deficits. Immediately developed and implemented staff reduction and cost reduction plans. Oversight of IT, HR, Budget and Finance and Facilities. Conducted review of programs, contracts, grants and funding sources to ensure alignment with our mission. Secured a donation of $200,000 from a nationally recognized foundation. Worked with auditors to facilitate a smooth yearly audit process. Liaison to state and federal officials to ensure compliance with regulatory matters. Arranged partial merger with national nonprofit to continue participant programs and partial transfer of staff. Oversaw digitalization and classification of organizational records. Ultimately cuts in federal funding for programs caused severe cuts in programs and stuffing.
Provide leadership and oversight to all administrative functions to ensure successful operation of the firm. Direct reports include the Controller, Directors of IT, HR, Marketing and Facilities. Guide the business development and strategic direction of the firm. In collaboration with the Director of IT, select and implement advanced technology systems. Together with the Controller provide proper accounting systems and performance metrics to measure and advance business performance. Collaborate with the Director of Human Resources to create a dynamic work environment to attractive and retain top talent. Oversee the development of a robust digital presence for the firm’s business development and accomplishments. With over 70 attorneys and 45 administrative positions, the firm is headquartered in Worcester with offices in Boston, Providence, New Bedford, Framingham and Cape Cod. Our focus areas include Special Needs Trusts, Commercial Finance, Civil Litigation, Trusts and Estate Planning and Administration, Business and Corporate Structuring, and Real Estate Transactions.
Partnering with the Massachusetts State Police and the Department of Revenue, the Illegal Tobacco Task Force coordinates efforts to combat contraband tobacco distribution, including efforts to foster compliance with the law and conduct targeted investigations and enforcement actions against violators. Additionally the task force assists to facilitate information among state agencies on areas of potential investigative interest, assess existing investigative and enforcement methods, develop and recommend strategies to improve enforcement methods and establish procedures for referring cases to prosecuting authorities.
