My position in the Vulnerability Management and Research team involves incident response duties, penetration testing, threat intelligence and security innovation. My position has also given be the opportunity to manage new members to the team. My penetration testing duties have allowed me to test a range of COTS products, as well as custom made software, and systems used by all of government. I have discovered 0 day vulnerabilities in multiple COTS products. I have tested systems in use by the ATO, Department of Industry, and the Attorney General's Department. My security innovation work has allowed me to work on multiple projects used by the team, and by the ATO. Some tools that I have created or worked on include: * An automated malware scanner for office documents and PDFs. * Assistance in the development of a customised SIEM tool using MVC Razor * Automated analysis of email attachments for malware using custom made tools * Development of a hardware and software solution to prevent Protected level documents from being accessed on corporate mobile devices. * Various tools that contribute to making penetration testing, intelligence and incident response duties easier and more efficient for the members of my team. * Secure laptop builds for executives travelling to high risk locations. My other responsibilities involve * Detection and reverse engineering of malware * Assistance in dealing with phishing scams targeting the ATO * Management of penetration testing including meetings with clients to receive approval, and to conduct reviews of testing results. * Out of hours testing when required. * Security research and training
