● Providing MBSE support for the XM30 Mechanized Infantry Combat Vehicle (MICV). Includes developing requirements, structural and behavioral models in SysML using Cameo. Focused on XM30 logical models referencing the US Army’s GCS Common Infrastructure Architecture (GCIA). ● Provided MBSE support for a ground-based optical imaging system. Lead the definition/analysis of system requirements and Use Cases and the creation of structural and behavioral models in SysML using MagicDraw/Cameo. This program followed Agile development processes. ● MBSE Lead for a program which models mission success of various ground and space payload architectures. The model is implemented in Cameo using SysML activity and parametric diagrams which integrate with existing Matlab mathematical models using the Cameo Simulation Toolkit Plug-in. ● MBSE Lead for a new classified product area. Defined system-level requirements and Use Cases and modeled the architecture using block definition, activity diagrams and state machine diagrams.
● Lead Systems Engineer for the Tanker Docking System (TDS), a subsystem of the Dynetics Human Lander System (HLS). Phase 1 focused primarily on TDS ConOps and requirements definition/analysis. ● Systems Engineer for Thrust Vector Control (TVC) systems deployed on hypersonic vehicles. Duties include requirements management, verification planning, system modeling with Simulink and support of contract deliverables including design reviews, customer meetings and documentation. ● Systems Engineering support for successful proposals, including Blue Origin 1st Stage TVC and Fin Actuators.
● Responsible for the technical direction and development of Northrop Grumman Amherst Systems’ Combat Training Systems product family, which provides open-air EW testing and training. ● Technical lead for over $500K in IR&D work focused on the development of new open-air EW test and training systems including advanced threat emulators, RF decoy systems, ground based jammers and communication signal simulators. ● Supported Business Development with numerous briefings, whitepapers and RFI responses for US DoD and foreign customers. ● Systems Engineering support for multiple Combat Electromagnetic Environment Simulator (CEESIM) programs. Tasks include the requirements management (DOORS), risk and opportunity management, development of system validation and verification plans (SVVP) and procedures. ● Systems Engineering support on multiple reviews with the customers (SRR, SDR, PDR, and CDR) ● Lead Systems Engineering on several successful proposals.
● Software Engineering Manager for as many as four direct reports. Responsible for assignments, schedules, reporting status to management and overall software processes. ● Systems Engineer and SW Engineering lead for multiple demonstration programs on the USAF Test Pilot School (TPS) Variable Stability In-Flight simulator and Test (VISTA) F-16. Programs included, Autonomous Collision Avoidance System (ACAS), Automated Air Refueling and the first Autonomous Landing of an F-16. All efforts involved integrating auto-coded Mathworks Simulink flight control models into the VISTA Variable Stability System (VSS). ● Lead Systems Engineer for the Lear 3 In-flight Simulator development program. ● Lead Systems Engineer for USAF Test Pilot School VISTA F-16 Computer VSS Upgrade. Upgraded computers to PowerPC single board computers running VxWorks. Built VISTA integration “hot bench” in Buffalo, greatly reducing on-site integration times.
● Lead Systems Engineer on the Radar Rig Support Equipment (RRSE) program. Led a multi-function engineering team to successful delivery of RRSE in 18 months. RRSE consisted of embedded software running on multiple processors (15) to provide real-time stimulation to the search and acquisition radar of the BAE Systems Royal Nimrod MRA4. RRSE was operational in the BAE Systems SIL for 10+ years without failure.
