Lead economic research and authored major studies in a variety of key economic areas related the resource sector in Canada as well regional economic development issues. Developed and managed funded international programs for economic development particularly in Eastern Europe. Prepared project workplans, training plans financial and progress reports as well as risk assessments. Carried out long-range planning and resource allocation exercises.
In a 16 year career with CIDA, I served as senior analyst, program and project officer in 5 program areas, three geographic regions as well as a Canadian diplomat overseas. In addition to program and project development, I held responsibilities for assessments and evaluations as well as ongoing strategic and economic analysis. I developed program performance and impact indicators. I also coordinated a restructuring of a major Canadian non-governmental organization as it emerged from financial difficulty and participated in negotiations for the partial privatization of the energy sector in one of my countries of responsibility.
