I am an experienced financial markets professional, with a strong background in proprietary trading and investment banking. I began my career as a pit observer at the LIFFE exchange in London before moving into Money Markets Trading at Santander (formerly Abbey National). During my time at Santander, I gained international experience across London, New York, Hong Kong, and Sydney, working in liquidity management and short-term interest rate products. In 2003, I joined OSTC, where I progressed to become Head of Trading and later Deputy CEO. In this role, I was instrumental in developing and managing trading strategies, overseeing risk, and leading a global team of traders across multiple asset classes. Following OSTC’s commercial agreement with Futures First in June 2024, I transitioned to the role of Head of Markets within their Capital Markets Branch. This role encompasses overseeing strategic market operations, managing trading teams, and ensuring alignment with evolving global market opportunities. I am a strategic thinker and organized leader with a proven track record of managing complex projects while driving growth and innovation in financial markets. My continued focus is on market structure, trading innovation, and risk management within numerous financial and commodity markets. I have further enhanced my leadership expertise by completing the “Leading Global Business” course at Harvard Business School, strengthening my ability to navigate the evolving landscape of the finance sector.
• Ensuring that the Governance Risk, Compliance and Control Frameworks of OSTC Trading Support are operating effectively. • Ensuring that these frameworks are maintained and updated as approved by the Board of OSTC Trading. • Making Operative the risk controls required by the Frameworks to remain within agreed risk appetite. • Compiling, assessing and reporting risk information to the CEO and the Board. • Working closely with the CEO, CFO, Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee, other executive and non-executive committee members, senior managers across the business and representatives of the shareholder moulding a high-achieving, well-controlled organisation which can achieve growth targets safely • Continuously developing, enhancing and embedding the risk framework of managing risks across the institution, ensuring the processes are fit for purpose. • Establishing and maintaining corporate governance systems and committee structures and reviewing and confirming investment processes. • Embedding a positive culture of confident and informed risk-taking through training, communication and promotion of the agreed risk framework. • Providing essential input as a member of senior management and the executive committee and credibly challenging the management of current issues and the development and implementation of strategy. Verifying and approving new trading strategies and products proposed by the trading Executive.
