• Lead the strategy for technology platforms, partnerships and external relationships • Represent the technological agenda in staff meetings and when making high level hiring decisions • Identify, compare, select and be responsible for technology solutions to meet current and future needs • Develop, track and control the development of annual operating and capital budgets for purchasing, staffing and operations • Work with rest of management team to optimize infrastructure assets to satisfy internal financial targets • Create overall technology standards and practices and ensure adherence • Consolidate technology platforms and create plans for each • Track, analyze and monitor technology performance metrics • Oversee system design and main changes in system architecture • Keep abreast of new trends and best practices in the technology landscape • Take the initiative in thought leadership, innovation and creativity within the tech team • Work closely with Marketing, Business Development and Operations to define and deliver new products and enhancements • Work closely together with the Lead Engineer to ensure the successful outcome • Mentor and develop engineers

The Head of Engineering works closely with engineering team leads in developing the engineering culture and people, create teams that are both autonomous in their approaches and accountable to their results. The Head of Engineering keeps up with new technologies and identifies correct schema for the projects/products in development. As a leader he has a strong vision for the department and promotes the best organizational patterns and practices. He tackles high-level challenges and balances quality software with speed. He is responsible for feature deployment, stability of the business’s core platform stability, and the overall quality of the business’s software architecture. - to plan the technical development and establish the technical vision that guides all aspects of technological development. - to manage product staffing to enable the successful development of products as well as the personal development of members of the engineering team. - to take the lead with a profound understanding of new and relevant technologies when discussing the right setup for each product – coaching teams to make the best decision given the information they have. - to lead the recruiting activities of the engineering department; you will mentor key engineering personnel, continually promoting the growth of their professional skills, readying team members for career growth. - to ensure the technical operations both for our engineering teams as well as Oetker Digital in total. - to support make-or-buy decisions both on the level of individual software packages but also for entire business as part of M&A activities.
