Principal Lead for the Networks, Telecoms & Member Services team. Responsible for the network, telecoms and network security infrastructure for the Vale of Glamorgan Council. Worked very closely with Elected Members of the Council to determine their technology requirements. The team provided network, WAN and internet services to 6,000 staff and 20,000 pupils across 154 sites. Responsible for the specification, procurement and support of Cisco, HP Procurve, f5 and Fortinet network and network security infrastructure, and for running of the Networks, Telecoms and Member Services teams.
Lecturer in the Cisco Networking Academy Program (part time). Delivering the CCNA official curriculum as a Cisco Certified Academy Instructor through Cardiff and Vale College (formerly Barry College).
The first step on the ladder of a career in IT and networking where I obtained Microsoft and Cisco professional qualifications. Moved quickly into lecturing and network management where I became the network manager for a team of support engineers in the provision of IT services to the college.
