    May 2001 - Aug 2004 · 3 yrs 4 mos

Recruited by Chris Sadler to represent RFC Capitals (Columbus OH) lending platform in Canada. RFC financed Primus Canada just before I came on board and I sourced and closed a US$10MM facility with YAK Communications which allowed the company to go public on NASDQ and then be sold to Anthony Lacavera's Globalive which started Wind Mobile. After a sudden decline in the Telecom Industry (e.g. World Comm etc., my mandate was changed to represent Textron's ABL Group in Canada. The focus was on general ABL type deals from $10MM to $30MM in the traditional and highly competitive ABL space e.g. automotive tier 2 & 3 suppliers. Did a deal with the PSA Group for $10MM and several smaller deals but by 2004 and post 911 - Textrons cost of funds and credit risk appetite made it apparent they could not compete with the large ABL shops e.g. CIT and Congress Financial or the Sched. A Chartered Banks like RBC and BMO who entered this space. Also securitized deals at LIBOR +50 bpts where out of our pricing realm.
