Leading a Life Science plant in Merck's global operations network with around 500 employees and a large product portfolio, across several quality levels from ISO9001 up to GMP level manufacturing. Leading a team of highly engaged and dedicated project- and program managers to support one of the Merck Life Science technology cluster with >10 plants across US and EMEA. Responsible to deliver optimization of operations network and to execute large strategic projects including large investments into cutting edge technology. Responsible to translate the business strategy into an operations strategy, delivering an investment roadmap into new capacities and capabilities for the coming years. Support the sites in developing robust business cases for CapEx project approvals by leadership team.
Heading program to implement European Commission`s requirements to fulfill conditions for planned acquisition by Merck KGaA; Ring-Fencing of business part that has to be divested; supporting divestiture process; implement transitional services for purchaser;
fincancial and legal responsibility for the Seelze site with around 150 employees; supply chain lead for solvents within EMEA region;
key performance indicator driven management of large scale production department (production of chemicals/APIs under GMP guidelines) and production service department (GMP logistics and high volume GMP filling) with around 40 reports; customer value (internal and external) oriented implementation of efficient solutions and new products; Identified and fixed key root cause for department backorders and reduced them sustainably by 90%; Passed first ever FDA audit of department for a commercial API; Development objective: strategy development of a market segment within a strategic business unit with an international, cross functional project team; driver of process improvement activities to optimize existing services and products with respect to customer requirements;
