I'm an embedded systems engineer with a passion for building reusable software components on systems ranging from bare-metal to Embedded Linux. I've been working in the IoT space since I joined Trane in 2007 where we began developing a line of internet connected thermostats beginning with the XL950. Over the next 12 years, the line was extended to include three other thermostat variants which included Z-Wave connected-home technologies. After my exit from Trane, I have been developing a Bluetooth Mesh stack from the ground-up. My hope is to apply this experience with Bluetooth in my next endeavor, whatever that may be.
Currently developing a portable and reusable Bluetooth Mesh stack, running on an Embedded Yocto Linux using a raw BLE HCI/UART and Zephyr OS on a nRF52840 micro-controller. The Zephyr OS nRF52840 platform has several incarnations all of which are Solar powered with LiPo batteries, including Relay and LPN functions. I am also working on a Qt based Bluetooth Mesh provisioning/configuration client using Linux BlueZ Bluetooth Mesh over the D-Bus.
