Project and design engineer working within the civil and mechanical industries over 10 years of professional experience gaining a wide and varied knowledge within the engineering industry to be readily able to adapt to varying specifications and standards. Established in 1980, Marine Technology Ltd (MTL) from its very beginning has been a precision engineering, design and development company with the unique capacity to manufacture and supply its own designs to meet client’s needs. Over recent years MTL has diversified its industry expertise in areas such as aerospace, medical devices and oil & gas. Also involved in the design and manufacture of combustion equipment for academic research. This type of precision engineering has involved the design and manufacture of Rapid Compression Machines, high-pressure shock tubes and fuel mixing vessels. MTL has also served the marine renewable energy sector through fabrication design on scaled models for clients testing their concepts at the Lir National Ocean Test Facility. As project manager and design engineer, my role included: • Design of pressure vessels for PED and CE certification • Design of fabricated structures and sheet metal work • Planning and work scheduling • Specification (URS & FS development) • Subcontract management • Machine process management Gaining familiarity with: • ASME Section VIII: Div. 1 • ASME B31.3 • PD5500 • CE marking requirements • PED certification • Welded and mechanical construction design • Welder qualification, certification and testing • Conversational programming • CAM programming

Roles within the surveying and in-house design departments were fulfilled during my stay with the company. Experience gained includes design of project elements, pricing for a wide range of civil projects for tender applications and completion of proposed design drawings for tender submission. • Dunmore, Kilkerrin, Leenane Sewerage Treatment Scheme Project Manager and Site Engineer for the works under the company’s role as acting main contractor. • Inishbofin Coastal Protection Scheme and Pier Improvement Project Manager and Site Engineer for the pier construction works until hand over of completed project. • Doonbeg Golf Course Executive Cottages Site Engineer overseeing block work and second fix carpentry to high standard, including scheduling and ordering of materials. • University of Limerick Living Bridge Project manager and Site Engineer for a special area of conservation within the main scope of the works. • Croi na mBaile Housing Scheme Project Manager and Site Engineer for the fourth phase of the housing scheme
