Leading a team of performance analysts to co-ordinate the monitoring, analysis and presentation of data and information for the ‘Our Liverpool’ asylum seeker and refugee support programme, as well as ongoing corporate and Community Safety Partnership (CSP) analytical work. Projects included: ~ Weekly ‘Pandemic Impact Tracker’ for crime & anti-social behaviour (ASB) 2020: designer and editor of reporting, feeding into over a dozen strategic pandemic planning groups across Liverpool. Reports covered domestic abuse, hate crime, ASB and serious violence. ~ Citysafe Outcomes Annual Report: author and analyst on report bringing together output and outcome analysis from grantees awarded Citysafe grants in 2019/20. ~ Strategic Intelligence Assessment 2019: redesigned traditional 100 page report using SharePoint and a new approach – adopting ‘on one page’ as the branding to help summarise key headlines and facts on one side where possible, using infographics across all the community safety themes this year. ~ Social Return on Investment (SROI) monitoring for Adult Learning Services wellbeing courses: for the first time applying social value costs to wellbeing outcomes identified by course participants who were refugees or asylum seekers. ~ Our Liverpool evaluation support for Ipsos MORI: sourcing and creating monitoring & evaluation intelligence to feed into national evaluation work around the Controlling Migration Fund (CMF) activities funded by MHCLG.
Independent Social Researcher Projects included: ~ Health needs assessment (HNA) of offenders in the community, interviewing offenders and strategic stakeholders across Cheshire/Warrington/Wirral; ~ Reputation and communication review for Contour Homes across NW; ~ 'Critical friend' advice on Oxfam's effectiveness review programme; ~ Evaluation support services for local integrated offender management IOM programme, including facilitation of 'world cafe' improvement planning workshop;
Project manager and director in Liverpool Social Research team, responsible for: ~ service design, quality-controlled outputs and client liaison for the Economic Development, Community Safety and Housing strands of the Merseyside Information Service (MIS) contract. Designed bespoke websites for these service areas. ~ technical supervision of multi-disciplinary staff inputs, and effective line management of own research team. ~ business development and bid writing (part of bid team who prepared successful £2m+ MIS research framework proposal in 2009); marketing and event management; staff development and training. ~ author/editor of several well-received briefing reports including ‘Ageing Population: Analysis and Implications’, ‘Monthly Recession Tracker’, and ‘Implications of Public Sector Spending Cuts’.
Responsible for: ~ Co-ordination, analysis and distribution of Crime and Disorder (C&D) data and intelligence, to support Merseyside authorities in the preparation of their C&D Audits/Strategies. ~ Establishing data processing and sharing protocols. ~ Providing training and advice to data analysts in the partnership teams, including GIS training and research methods/sourcing. ~ Chaired and maintained Liverpool City Region advisory group on crime and disorder intelligence.
Responsible for collation, analysis, presentation & dissemination of a range of socio-economic, crime and demographic data. Project examples and achievements: ~ Objective One ‘Pathways’ Impact Monitoring - author on several monitoring report chapters, generating bespoke neighbourhood level data for targeted Pathway areas. Annual report on impacts of Objective One money published and presented to Government Office North West and partner agencies for nearly nine years. ~ Kensington New Deal for Communities (NDC) – Providing analysis of crime hotspots and socio-economic data for baseline study of Kensington NDC.
