At Origin Energy, I’ve led the Intelligent Well strategy, enabling an 86% increase in wells without increasing headcount. I’ve delivered a 10-year AI-driven camera rollout plan, designed product roadmaps for the Well Performance Application and Integrated Operations Hub, and guided cross-functional teams through cultural and operational change. But behind every system and strategy is something deeper: people. The most rewarding part of my work is coaching teams to see the bigger picture, connect to their zone of genius, and thrive in change. I lead the strategy and delivery of the Well Performance Application and Integrated Operations Hub, while driving the broader Intelligent Well vision — enabling IG to manage an increase in wells whilst controlling OPEX. I bring together agile squads, Managers, Supervisors, and frontline operators to shorten the time from idea to execution. Alongside this, I champion AI adoption, coaching colleagues on how to embed GenAI tools into daily workflows and inspiring teams to think bigger about what’s possible. Highlights: - Delivered ML camera strategy with a 10-year rollout, cost/benefit, and risk plan - Guided WPA and IOH product roadmaps from concept to release - Co-founded AI@IG working group and became the go-to person for GenAI adoption - Recognised for influencing without authority and gaining buy-in through storytelling
Part of a 4 person team redesigning the Future Operating Model for Engineering in IG (cohort of 165-person). My role was to turn collective insights into strategy, leading sprints, shaping recommendations, and helping the organisation cut through complexity. What made this work special was how bottom-up it was — the solutions came from the people closest to the work. My job was to facilitate, coach, and simplify, so the cohort could see their ideas come alive and leadership could confidently approve them. Highlights: - Produced 23 recommendations (40% effort redirection, $10M savings) - Achieved unanimous executive approval with zero rework - Designed the Value Driver Tree, linking engineering activities to operational outcomes - Embedded cultural principles: simplification, ownership, knowledge-sharing
Led a team of engineers managing control systems, alarms, and optimisation for over 2,500 wells. My focus was to ensure safe, reliable operations while also shaping the future of automation and decarbonisation. Beyond the technology, I built a learning culture: coaching engineers, succession planning, and connecting with operators so everyone had a voice in how we worked. Highlights: - Expanded the team with new roles to meet growth - Rolled out Wellcode v7, progressed v8 design, secured funding for v9 & v10 - Partnered with Data Science to analyse alarm flood events with ML - Piloted an OKR goal-setting system to align team focus
Supported multiple facilities, focusing on reliability, obsolescence, and safety. I enjoyed the variety of challenges — from hot water heater design to full HAZOP studies — each one a chance to improve performance and reduce risk. Highlights: - Delivered retrospective HAZOP & LOPA for Newcastle Gas Storage - Led feed/concept design for new hot water heater - Reviewed detailed design for microturbine installation
