Experience

  • traffic manager at Rema Foods

During my time at Rema Foods, I worked as a Traffic Manager. Here I was responsible for global procurement of product from suppliers to regional warehouses and final delivery to customers. I coordinated shipments from 16 warehouses throughout the US, averaging 75 truckloads and over 100 LTL shipments daily. I Reduced LTL FAK from 77.5 to 55 with house carriers, resulting in a reduction of shipping costs by 22%. I also eliminated carriers that did not meet performance standards and increased freight to remaining carriers. Additionally, I provided advantage to reduce rates; achieved and maintained 98% on-time service levels. Achievements As Traffic Manager, I developed analysis reports and forecasting trends with seasonal order increases and truck availability to all six regions of the US. I identified industry trends and problems that could possibly affect order deadlines or increase transit time. Finally, I generated approximately $780,000 in annual savings by employing new procedures for pier container deliveries, saving $4.2 million
