Traded Within Day, Day Ahead, Front Week UK Power and Gas, maximising profits through on-screen trading platforms and OTC markets. Optimised short term power and gas contract positions across UK thermal, Hydro and Gas Storage portfolio into delivery. Devised and executed strategies to maximise Balancing Mechanism revenue. Managed large Gas Supply Agreement to ensure highest value delivered.
Valuation and Analysis – Developed the integration of new forward curves into current models, successfully developing one that automatically generates curves for month end business needs. Responsible for the development of a tool that tracks the historic price shaping of power and gas, calculating the relativities applied to the forward curve ensuring greater market reflectiveness. Created a new forward Retail Pricing Profile which resulted in increased revenue from current relationships. Introduced the Carbon Tax and CCGT New Entrant profiles into the businesses Visulisation Tools for ongoing monitoring and future long term spread views. Risk – Part of the project team responsible for the migration to a new Trade Capture and Contract Notification system. Performed a lead role in the Front and Middle Office testing and training of the system and in the development of new front end tools. Retail - Successfully improved the companies ability to sign SME customers with less than 2GWh annual consumption by providing historical evidence why forecasting limits needed to be changed, successfully proposing to the risk committee that credit limits should be revised and also developed relationships with new brokers that specifically target these small but cash lucrative types of customers. Wrote a detailed business plan that investigated the potential for a retail business in the SME market, using market research to size the particular market and by using derived hit rates predicted the 3 year financial value for the company moving into this area.
Part of the finance team that was responsible for the month end reporting of revenues and costs for the Entertainment and Devices Division. Responsible for reporting, monitoring and forecasting Marketing and Operating Expenses, analyzing key trend data so that past and future performance can be shown. Involved in the EDD Budget for 2010 which was key to long term business success as it was the year they launched their ground breaking Kinect product.
