Michael J. Martin has over 40 years of business and product development experience and has held positions at E.I. DuPont, PPG Industries, Ciba-Geigy, Michigan State University and Virginia Tech Intellectual Properties, Inc; where he was responsible for the management and commercialization of intellectual property; formulation and execution of new business entry plans; financial and market evaluations of acquisitions; national sales and market management; and growth of community economic development strategies. He is a Certified Licensing Professional™. He has authored numerous papers on technology transfer, product development, and implementing advanced manufacturing technology. Mike is an invited international speaker. He is on many boards of small businesses and just resigned from the Board of Directors of Access BIDCO, a venture capital firm. Mike has written business plans for incubators, accelerators, venture funds, and numerous start-ups. He has facilitated strategic planning sessions and planning for communities, industry associations, small manufacturers and University Tech Transfer operations. Mike has supervised or directly negotiated over 400 licensing deals and assisted in the start-up of over 100 businesses.
