Hi, I’m Michael Hernandez — a Stony Brook University student majoring in Environmental Design, Policy, and Planning, with the goal of building a career in architecture. I’m passionate about design, people well-being, and creating meaningful spaces that make a difference. With 4 years of experience in hospitality and customer service roles at Regal, On the Border, Burger Village, and Yea’s Kitchen, I’ve developed strong communication, leadership, and problem solving skills. I also have a creative side; I enjoy content creation (CapCut, Instagram, TikTok), painting, drawing, and music production, all of which fuel my interest in creative design and planning. I’m fluent in English and Spanish, highly adaptable, and driven by a desire to give my best in everything I do. My parents’ sacrifices inspire me every day to pursue my goals with purpose, kindness, and hard work. Let’s connect — I’m always open to new opportunities and learning experiences!
I manage the creative and digital side of our family business, G.E.M. Crafts. I designed our brand name and logo, built our website, and handle content creation for Instagram and TikTok—sharing our handmade satin flowers and other items. I also help promote products, manage some sales, and engage with our growing community online. My goal is to share our love for crafts in a way that feels personal, creative, and inspiring.
