Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex
I am a graduate of Texas Tech University residing in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. I am passionate, dedicated, and energetic about any task I approach. My experience includes working closely as a credentialed reporter with organizations such as The Dallas Morning News, Fort Worth Star-Telegram, ESPN and Rivals along with Tech's student-run newspaper. I also have experience in radio and television, including hosting a weekly podcast with the Dallas Sports Fanatics organization — a company responsible for credentialed NBA and WNBA coverage in the metroplex.
My responsibilities included: - Board operating for weekday and weekend radio programs - Co-hosting a sports-themed weekend morning radio show - Writing, cutting, producing and editing daily sports updates for on-air broadcast - Retrieving and editing audio from daily practices - Issuing cut sheets to on-air talents with edited audio and highlights - Creating on-air intros for weekday and weekend programs - Updating website and Facebook page weekly with local sports news
My responsibilities included: - Covering Texas Tech football and basketball from May 2015-'16 - Attending practices, media availabilities, games and press conferences - Chronicling the departure of former men's basketball coach Tubby Smith and hiring of Texas Tech coach Chris Beard - Aggregating other media reports - Producing at least five stories per week - Using social media to promote stories - Covering the 5A Region I boys and girls track and field meet in May 2014 - Gathering and interviewing news sources on-site
