About

Michael Davis, an artist, writer, mentor, and entertainment executive, has made significant contributions across various media. His journey began as an illustrator, fueled by his passion for art, and he honed his skills at the High School of Art & Design and the Pratt Institute. In 1987, DC Comics launched Piranha Press, featuring Michael Davis's work on *ETC*. That same year, he founded the Bad Boy Studios Mentor Program, which produced notable alumni like Boondocks creator Aaron McGruder, fashion designer Willie Escobar Montanez, and artists Shawn Martinbrough, Bernard Chang, and John Paul Leon. In 1992, Michael co-founded Milestone Media, a groundbreaking joint venture with DC Comics. As President and CEO of Motown Animation & Filmworks in 1994, Michael oversaw projects like *Cousin Skeeter*, which aired on Nickelodeon from 1998 to 2001. He also co-created and wrote the hit Emmy-winning show *Static Shock*, now in development by Michael B. Jordan and Reggie Hudlin for Warner Bros. Michael's impact extended beyond television. In 1997, he signed an overall deal with Viacom, creating *The Action Files*, a high-interest, low-level reading program for grades K-8, available on Amazon. He later led the animation division at Magic Johnson Entertainment, producing *The Rockaway Detectives*, a reading program for Boys and Girls Clubs. His concept, *A Little Magic*, was optioned by Miramax in 2000 and eventually inspired the 2019 film *The Kid Who Would Be King*. Urban Ministries Inc (UMI), a respected black Christian Media Company, distributes Michael's Guardian Line comics, selling approximately 150,000 units quarterly without Diamond Distributors. Additionally, he served as a comedy producer and head writer for the Tom Joyner syndicated TV show, which premiered in Fall 2005. Michael Davis's **Black Panel (TBP)**, a forum featuring major players from the African American media space, provides unique insights and access to audiences at Comic Con International in San Diego and other venues. The panel transcends traditional publisher presentations, emphasizing interaction and engagement with fans¹². 🎨📺📚
