Iโm a certified life coach, political geographer, and gender-based violence prevention advocate with a PhD in political geography. I help men and leaders heal inherited patterns, reconnect with themselves, and live with greater integrity and purpose. Over the past two decades, Iโve led trauma-informed programs in schools, the justice system, and nonprofit settings; designed mentorship initiatives; and taught on power, masculinity, and belonging. My work is grounded in compassion, accountability, and a belief that personal transformation and collective liberation are deeply linked. I also write about masculinity, power, and justice at michaelbrasher.substack.com, and contribute to public conversations around gender equity, white masculinity, and the unfinished work of abolition.
In my 4 years with Boys to Men, this is some of what I accomplished: - Developed a new mission, vision, and strategic plan with proven results - Tripled the scale of the direct service programs in Pima County schools - Expanded collaborations with new partners, bringing programming to new communities & institutions - Worked with board of directors to create new policies for governance, program evaluation and financial oversight - Provided high-impact trainings to district school staff on masculinity and social change - Significantly raised the profile of the organization - Grew Staff from 1 to 8, while significantly increasing pay and benefits for all employees - Developed, launched, and led an innovative collective-impact, systems change Initiative aimed at Healthy, Intergenerational Masculinity - Exceeded agency annual revenue goals every year, increasing annual operating revenues from $130,000 to $750,000
