Final Year Civil Engineering MEng student | University of Bath | Joining Mott MacDonald in September 2026 based in London | experience in dams & reservoirs engineering with industry experience across: - Emergency Drawdown Systems: hydraulic modelling while considering access, maintenance, and operability. - Reservoir tunnel optioneering: optimising internal layouts via CAD modelling, producing and presenting development and comparison reports. - RC design: Autodesk ROBOT+ Tekla TEDDs. - Project delivery: project management support for minor schemes. - Reservoir safety: exposure to various Section 12 inspections.
Worked in the Dams and Reservoirs team on a proposed UK reservoir classified as a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP). • Completed hydraulic and civil design calculations including emergency drawdown systems and spillway sizing. • Undertook optioneering process finding optimal arrangement for emergency drawdown pipework in tunnel based on access and maintenance philosophies. • Produced plan and section drawings in CAD, using QGIS data to inform layouts and coordinate with BIM technicians. • Prepared technical presentations and supported client meetings. • Attended further S12 inspections with SE.
Worked in the Welsh Water framework in the AMP 7 cycle in the Dams and Reservoirs team. Key Experiences: • Delivered structural design calculations including submerged RC chambers, retaining valve chambers, thrust checks, and beam design – Calculations using Excel, ROBOT and Tekla Tedds. • Managed project programme and chaired internal design meetings. • Coordinated with subcontractors and BIM technicians to issue P01 drawings to Client and QCE. • Project Lead for inspection of 33 service reservoirs across Wales. • Planned and attended site inspections, coordinating client operations and access. • Attended several Section 12 visits with a Supervising Engineer (SE).
