Serve as Assistant Deputy Director for the ODJFS Office of Employee and Business Services, which provides administrative and operational support to all ODJFS offices in the areas of Human Resources, Labor Relations, Civil Rights Compliance, Organizational Development, Talent Management, DEI and Facility Operations.
Held leadership role in the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) Office of Transformation. Directed initiatives that improved customer experiences throughout the agency by partnering with Office Deputy Directors, Bureau Chiefs, and external stakeholders to create a holistic, collaborative approach to transformational improvements in how customers interact with ODJFS services.
Led the Office of HR Operations within the DAS State Human Resources Division (SHRD), which serves as the focal point for all enterprise human resources operations including the administration of Payroll, State HR Services, Records, and Drug-free Workplace. Provided oversight to the state’s Application and Reporting group which provides issue triage, planning, design, testing, reporting, configuration functions, guidance and support for multiple enterprise facing human resources systems including Payroll, Timekeeping, Position Management, Benefits, Disability, Training, Performance Management, and HR system security approvals.
Provided strategic direction for Lean Six Sigma initiatives to make state government services simpler, better, faster, and less costly. Designed training programs to ensure employees are well-equipped to effect major improvement. Managed and leveraged a network of over 1,000 practitioners by promoting the latest best practices and proven approaches for process improvement. Led process improvement projects utilizing Lean Six Sigma tools and principles to streamline work processes in a cost-efficient way to promote continuous improvements across all state government agencies. Conducted strategic planning events to assist agencies with establishing a clear set of priorities and an understanding of core processes to develop goals, objectives, measures, and action steps.
Planned, developed, and provided training and employee development programs; reviewed and evaluated training programs for compliance with government regulations; developed systems and procedures to increase agency efficiency; developed evaluation systems to analyze performance and effectiveness of training programs; prepared training budget for department and provided coaching and job performance reviews to a staff of 8 employees.
