Based on a hobby of collecting wine, I started a small business that designed and installed custom wine cellars. Grew the business and sold it in 2008 to partner.
Decided to use my undergrad degree and give back to the community. Taught as a Substitute for a year in grades 1 - 8 in all subject areas. Accepted a position to teach 6th grade Science for a year, then was offered a position to teach 7th grade Algebra. However, decided to leave to start my own small business.
Consultant on software development projects. Clients included Sales Logix and Continental Homes (DR Horton).
Responsible for managing a team of 9 design analysts and documentation specialists. Prior to this role, I was part of the rapid development team that created our first client server product. The 5 man team created the proof of concept prototype, then beta and general releases. My responsibilities grew as department size and client installs increased. Initially involved primarily in development, I moved into client consulting and design. Total size of product design, development and support groups were in excess of 100 associates.
