I have combined my love for writing with my interests in medicine and media relations and paved a career as an internal communications and public relations specialist in healthcare. My background in health, science, and investigative journalism has allowed me to cover important stories affecting patients, physicians, clinical and non-clinical staff, minority and multiracial groups, underserved and underrepresented communities, and the healthcare industry. I've also had the opportunity to build many relationships with outside healthcare organizations through hospital relations, collaboration on press releases, and other media projects. In addition, my experience in internal and crisis communications has allowed me to navigate new and challenging scenarios, quickly act to support colleagues and staff through messaging, and plan ahead for future situations. I'm a dedicated, organized worker who enjoys building communities, finding solutions to problems, developing different strategies and listening to everyone's viewpoints to achieve success, and finding innovative ways to increase engagement among audiences. Most of all, I love telling people's stories and working to improve internal and external communications in healthcare.
