About

Michael Lints is a Founding Partner MENA at Golden Gate Ventures (GGV), a Singapore-based venture capital firm where he leads the firm’s initiatives across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) from his base in Qatar. With over two decades of entrepreneurial and investment experience across Europe, Asia, and MENA, Michael focuses on cross-regional capital formation, early and growth-stage investments, and portfolio value creation between the two regions. Since joining GGV in 2013, Michael has played a key role in expanding the firm’s global footprint, helping raise multiple funds and supporting portfolio companies through Series B and later-stage rounds, strategic acquisitions, and exits. He holds several board positions, including Chairman of the Board of Right to Consumer Justice in the Netherlands, a social impact organization advancing access to fair legal processes. Prior to GGV, Michael co-founded an IT managed services startup in 2000 that was later acquired, and went on to launch a venture fund focused on Dutch SMEs in 2007. He also served as Vice Chairman of the Economic Development Board Rotterdam, where he established the Young Economic Development Board to strengthen public-private partnerships and sustainable investment in the region. Beyond venture capital, Michael is known for bridging business, culture, and impact. He is the filmmaker behind Broken Chains, a documentary exploring social injustice, and an active patron of the arts. A former member of the Dutch national karate team, Michael continues to apply the discipline and philosophy of sport to his work as an investor and leader. A frequent voice on global stages including SuperReturn Asia, Web Summit, the New York Stock Exchange, and the Qatar Economic Forum, Michael’s perspectives on venture, technology, and culture have been featured by Bloomberg TV, Channel News Asia, the Financial Times, NYSE Floor Talk, and the BBC. With a career that spans finance, entrepreneurship, sport, and social advocacy, he brings a unique lens to every conversation—challenging convention and inspiring connection across borders and disciplines.
