Invest International drives Dutch solutions for global challenges, having committed approximately EUR 2 bln globally to date. Within its venture capital team (EUR 175 mln), I source and manage equity investment opportunities through financial modeling, due diligence, market and competitive analysis, and close collaboration with founders, co-investors, and internal stakeholders. The focus is on scale-up companies (EUR 2-10 mln tickets) and investment funds (EUR 5-10 mln tickets) whose international activities strengthen the earning capacity of the Netherlands and Dutch and global resilience. Developed a should-cost model to establish road freight cost efficiencies for Henkel’s Consumer Brands and Adhesives supply chains (as part of my master’s degree). The cost savings potential for the modelled countries is estimated at €3 million.
Nidus Home is at the intersection of sustainability and real estate and has the mission to build eco-friendly homes as a sustainable housing option for the future. I am responsible for their business expansion to Western Europe (i.e., Germany, The Netherlands, and Belgium).
My dissertation was received as one of the best in the cohort (90/100). I estimated the impact of home sharing on long-term private rental rates in Amsterdam using an instrumental variable strategy, instrumenting with Airbnb search intensity. The research adds to the small yet growing body of knowledge on how the sharing economy is shaping the housing market by being the first to look at the impact of home sharing on rental rates in the Netherlands.
With a team of six, we put together a career planning course. The successful pilot was awarded a grant by the Hummingbird Fund. Other small-scale events were organised as well.
