His Royal Highness Meredith Clayton Beal is from Los Angeles. He has lived in Africa for more than a decade and wears several hats, including Sr. Paramount Chief of Education of the Bakholokoe Kingdom of South Africa and Media/Technology Advisor for United Religions Initiative—Africa. He serves as a United Nations Environment Assembly delegate, an African Union delegate, a delegate to the Geneva Peace Talks and the G20 Interfaith Summit. He was an award-winning radio station owner, award-winning webmaster and has won awards for his humanitarian activities. He has extensive experience in the media, ranging from his days as a Los Angeles Times reporter back in 1980, to serving as Director of Marketing for Motown Records and Dell Computer’s first Global Webmaster in the ‘90s. He was sent to Africa in 2011 by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to usher in the transition to digital television broadcasting and mentor African media owners. His travels have taken him to more than 60 countries. In 2024, he was crowned Senior Paramount Chief of Education of the Bakholokoe Kingdom in South Africa. Later that year, he received the Champion of Tradition & Modern Progress Award and in 2025, the Africa Champions Awards named him Best Education Philanthropist of the Year in Africa. In 2022, he received the African Impact Award, validating his contributions to the continent and culminating his 10 years living in Africa. The next decade continues his journey to transform childhood education paradigms and contribute to the development of modern, 21st Century, traditional, African kingdoms.

Meredith Beal is a media owner from the United States working with the African Media Initiative (AMI) to develop effective business models, improve management structures, and create new revenue streams to support quality news coverage. AMI is a pan-African organization of media owners and operators. Beal has mentored more than a dozen African media organizations, helping them with technological adaptation to monetize mobile and online news services and creating models that can be replicated by other organizations. He also forged an alliance between American experts and African TV industry leaders to help African stations with the transition from analog to digital broadcasting, bringing trainers from the Federal Communications Commission in Washington DC to work with African stations.
