About

Menno is a seasoned leader with 25+ years at the intersection of media, marketing, and technology. An expert about measurement, modeling and AI in marketing. He began his career at KPN Multimedia, pioneering in-game advertising, and went on to shape Rabobank’s early digital strategy with fintech Tref.nl. At Y&R’s Netfactory, he built digital platforms for brands like Sony-Ericsson and Ford, and later led the MarCom team at Schiphol Airport. As Head of Strategy at UM, Menno won top clients (BMW, ABN AMRO, Delta Lloyd, UPC, Vattenfall) and major industry awards. At IPG Mediabrands, as Chief Data & Tech Officer, he drove data transformation, scaled AI-driven insights, and built one of the first marketing sciences teams focused on behavioral science, predictive data and ROI. Menno has led global hackathons bridging data, tech, and creativity, and was among the first to champion sustainability in advertising. A sought-after speaker (Cannes Lions, ICOM, bvA) and jury chair (AMMA, DIA). Being a passionate advocate for a privacy-safe, autonomous digital future, Menno believes people should own and control their personal data — especially critical as AI systems increasingly absorb personal information. His PhD at University of Amsterdam, explores the relevance of personalization, investigating what data is truly needed to make ads/messaging/interactions more meaningful and how to translate human characteristics into effective creative strategies. Outside work, Menno built two houses in Amsterdam, chairs a housing cooperative, referees KNVB football matches, and plays the drums.
