As the Associate Director of Corporate Communications at DCCEEW, I help shape how we talk to our people, partners and the community. I lead our internal and corporate comms, making sure what we say is clear, useful and actually lands. I look after our public‑facing digital channels, keep our creative content and brand trusted and consistent, and bring teams together so we’re pulling in the same direction. At the heart of it, my work is about making information easy to understand, supporting change with empathy, and helping our environmental work cut through with credibility and impact.
Protecting and enhancing the organisation's visual identity and messaging. We ensure consistent, accessible, and high-quality brand communications through expert design, editorial support, and strategic brand management aligned with NSW Government standards.
For the department's Water Group my team is responsible for: - Internal communications - Environmental education - Digital communications channels (website, intranet, EDMs etc) - Brand and design
- Grants program administration - Infrastructure Design - Project Management
- Assisted in the establishment of the Australian Coastal Society - Established the website and communications products for the ACS - Member of the ACS Board - Communications Manager.
Role: - Manage Commonwealth government funded SeaNet Program (sustainable fisheries program) - Manage network of 8 remote based staff in each state. (SeaNet fisheries extension officers) - Communications and marketing corporate brand image for OceanWatch (responsible for graphics standards, branding, company communications, events and media liaison).
Role: - Communicate and negotiate government coastal and marine legislation, policies, programs and priorities. - Build the technical capacity of NSW CMAs in coastal, estuarine and marine management. - Review and provide coastal, estuarine and marine technical input to regional NRM plans and negotiate for funding of coastal and marine projects. - Support the network of Regional Strategic Facilitators and directly manage the network of seven Regional Coastcare Facilitators.
