I am a Risk Control Trainee at Sompo with a background in meteorology, geographic information science, and geography from Virginia Tech. My experience analyzing complex data and assessing weather-related risks has given me a strong foundation for evaluating operational exposures and supporting risk management decisions. I enjoy solving problems, learning new industries, and helping organizations identify and mitigate risk. As I continue to grow in the insurance industry, I look forward to developing technical expertise, building strong client relationships, and contributing to practical risk solutions. - Monitored global weather and natural hazard events to assess operational risk - Produced concise weather briefings and threat assessments for clients and internal teams - Analyzed forecast models, radar, satellite imagery, and official weather guidance to identify emerging hazards - Communicated evolving weather risks to support business continuity and operational decision-making

- Contacted 30 admitted students via phone calls and hand-written postcards to congratulate them on their acceptance and answer any questions they may have to ensure a positive decision-making experience - Assist faculty and directors while presenting informational presentations to prospective students during Open House weekends and weekly info sessions throughout the semester to encourage students to attend Virginia Tech - Prepare presentations and activities to be presented to 40 High School seniors to teach them about the College of Natural Resources and Environment, majors they can apply to, and answer any questions they may have
- Facilitate lectures during weekly lab meetings to first-year students to ensure assignment and lecture material is understood - Foster academic and social support networks among students to help with their academic and social transition into college - Lead group dialogue to enhance communication and provide an inclusive environment through positive feedback
- October 2022 & June 2023 - Assisted Meteorology professor with servicing one of Virginia Tech's weather stations located in Spruce Knob, WV while organizing and taking notes for historical data purposes - Organized equipment to ensure the correct tools were available when my professor requested them - Participated in department-sponsored summer field work focused on forecasting severe convection in the Great Plains while providing input for morning discussions and on-road weather analysis and navigation
