  • Widening Participation Student Tutor and Ambassador at Bath Spa University
    May 2016 - Jul 2018 · 2 yrs 3 mos

Employed as a Widening Participation (WP) Student Tutor and Ambassador for Bath Spa University's WP Outreach Programme. The programme aimed to raise aspirations to Higher Education (HE), support educational attainment and encourage people to progress onto Higher Education. My role involved tutoring English and Geography at secondary schools within BANES. There was a particular focus on tutoring pupils who are under-represented in Higher Education and working with schools where only a minority of students choose to study at University. As a Widening Participation Ambassador I worked closely with the WP Outreach Team and their 'Be Inspired!' programme. The 'Be Inspired!' programme aimed to raise awareness and aspiration towards HE. My role included assisting with University Visit Days, activities within primary schools and HE access talks.
