I am a founder and institution-builder working at the intersection of science, durable data infrastructure, governance, and ecosystem development. Throughout my career, I have focused on how to build systems that make important knowledge more durable, accessible, and trustworthy over time. My work has spanned biotechnology, research infrastructure, open internet systems, and the communities and institutions that help consequential infrastructure grow and endure. I previously co-founded 3Scan, a biotech company focused on high-resolution tissue imaging and analysis for research and drug discovery. As a founding officer of Filecoin Foundation, I have worked on advancing open and resilient infrastructure for scientific, cultural, and public-interest data. My current interests include scientific reproducibility and research infrastructure, durable storage and stewardship of public-interest data, governance models for open systems, ecosystem development and participation in consequential infrastructure, and the long-term preservation of knowledge in the AI era. I am particularly drawn to work that requires both technical ambition and institutional design: building not only the infrastructure itself, but also the governance, participation, and long-term stewardship required to make that infrastructure meaningful in practice. I write and speak about science, infrastructure, governance, and the systems and communities required to preserve what matters.
