Since 2013, I have collaborated with the Institute for Next Generation IT Systems (ITng) on various projects that address current Information Technology challenges. My responsibilities in these diverse ventures include strategic brand design; perfecting start-up business strategy and lead generation; UX design for web applications; and development of appropriate MVP’s (Minimum Viable Products), a development technique in which a new product or website is developed with sufficient features to satisfy early adopters. I play the lead role in the development and deployment of multi-dimensional marketing and communication strategies by creating brands and workflows that translate highly conceptual projects into a language that consumers can understand. I work hand in hand with software engineers in an open source development environment where we implement and leverage methodologies such as RAD, Scrum, and other software development paradigms. Products include software as a service (SaaS), database as a service (DBaaS) and results as a service (RaaS). Clients include : People-First Tourism, NExS (Tom Miller, Chancellor’s Innovation Fund), Kupitio (Chancellor’s Innovation Fund), ParkRX, Zylter, Destination Analytics, Steed (Science of Technologies for End-to-End Enablement of Data), Livitae and Health Be Me. Over the past five years I developed the curriculum for the following courses : › Graphic Design Methods (ARTG 2180) : Explores the relationships among design, context, setting, people and use with human centered design processes. Students practice methods, processes and ways of understanding people’s needs and translating findings into effective design systems. › Graphic Design 01 (ARTG 2181) : An introduction to the basic principles of visual communication through projects that consider conceptual development, analysis, form-making and technique. › Typography (ARTG 3184) : Through a focused series, students explore how typography behaves across media. Students examine the integration of typography and technology through the development of increasingly complex systems. › Print Production (ARTG 4180) : Advanced level graphic design problem-solving that concentrates on the relationships between message and media, and the exploration of both digital and traditional production techniques. › Senior Seminar (ARTA 4600) : An intensive writing experience that explores a variety of general issues in professional practice faced by graduating seniors. › Graphic Design Internship (ARTG 3408) : Placement in a professional setting for observation and supervised design-related duties. › Visual Communication Course – Rome, Italy Based in Palazzo Cenci-Bolognetti, the 2016 Rome Program was led by School of Architecture in collaboration with Department of Art & Art History. Forty-four students traveled to Rome, where they studied the art, architecture, and urban fabric.
