I have been an Occupational Therapist for 10 years and have experience working in subacute rehabilitation, inpatient medical surgical and inpatient neuro rehab. I am a graduate from the University of Scranton where I obtained my Master's of Science in Occupational Therapy as well as my minor in Counseling & Human Services. I am also an NBCOT registered occupational therapist.
I worked as a Senior occupational therapist at NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital on the inpatient neuro rehab unit. I evaluated, treated and aided in the discharge planning for patients ranging from 18-100 years old who are recovering from various conditions, including but not limited to traumatic/non-traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, tumor resections, amputations and complex orthopedic cases. I am LSVT, CSRS AND FWE certified and have supervised various level I and II students.
•Provide one on one care in a sub acute rehabilitation setting to the geriatric population recovering from various conditions including but not limited to orthopedics, cardiac, stroke and traumatic events •Perform evaluations/assessments including but not limited to occupational profile, quarterly/annual/fall screens, MMT, ROM, BERG, and MMSE. •Collaborate with patients/family/interdisciplinary team members to plan/implement client-centered interventions in order to achieve goals as well as discharge planning/family & caregiver training. •Supervise Level I/II students throughout clinical with participation in weekly, midterm, and final evaluations
•Responsible for care of multiple children including self-care, play, meal preparation, and cleaning.
-Evaluated clients with head injuries including strokes, traumatic brain injuries, hydrocephalus, and meningitis under the supervision of an OTR in an outpatient rehabilitation setting. -Maintained a caseload of 4 clients per day for 1-hour sessions working on cognitive and physical impairments. -Collaborated with clients and treatment teams to create meaningful and functional treatment goals to improve client's occupational performance in daily activities and improved quality of life. -Documented and implemented individualized treatment plans for therapy.
