M.Sc. Degree in Water Resources Management. More than 39 years’ professional experience as Senior Project Manager, Team Leader and Consultant Specialist of development and rehabilitation projects in the field of water resources management, sanitation, irrigation, drainage, flood management and agricultural development. Major duties include project design and planning, resource allocation, project mobilization and inception, budgeting, personnel and financial management, monitoring & evaluation and reporting. Hands-on experience with institutional development and strengthening, policy development, capacity building, training of counterpart staff, procurement of goods and services, construction supervision, the use of result frameworks as planning tool, monitoring and evaluation. Ample experience in directing and coordinating the input of multi-disciplinary long and short-term consultants in a multi-cultural setting. Familiar with procurement, project management, procurement, M&E guidelines, policy safeguards (environment, resettlement, gender, pro-poor) of the major multilateral donor agencies like the ADB and WB.
Indonesia: Urban Sanitation Development Program – 2 Client: National Planning Agency (Bappenas) / Royal Netherlands Embassy, Jakarta Main project features: Consultancy service (Euro 6.5 Mill) designed to support the Government of Indonesia with the implementation of a nation-wide Acceleration of Sanitation Development Program with focus on providing hands-on support in 90 cities/districts accelerating the implementation of sanitation development (‘from planning to implementation) and the establishment of sustainable sanitation services in 54 cities/districts in 9 provinces countrywide. Development of operational guidelines and manuals and the provision of to the central, provincial and local governments covering advocacy and communication institutional, legal/regulatory, technical and financial aspects. Position held: Project Manager Activities performed: - direct and coordinate the activities of 12 national and 4 international short term consultants - direct and coordinate the activities of 9 national consultants based in 9 provinces - directly (technical) support the coordinating Project Management Unit under the national planning ministry and the Project Implementation Units of the Ministry of Public Works, Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Home Affairs - support the development of process and procedures to guide the establishment of suatainable sanitation services for faecal sludge and solid waste management plus preparation of related guidelines - support the further development of a web-based National Water and Sanitation Information System into a decision support tool - editor of project Annual Work Plans, Progress Reports, Technical Reports, Project Briefs etc. - Liaise with other projects and donors concerned with sanitation development in Indonesia
