Working towards engaging with community leaders and municipal leaders throughout the Mystic River Watershed to help identify, develop, and pursue local and regional interventions to help priority populations get out of harm's way during extreme weather events.
Supported data collection and workshop facilitation for a public health assessment to understand the impact of climate change on residents’ health with a focus on extreme heat, housing instability, and food insecurity as part of an EPA-funded Participatory Action Research in Everett, MA. Assisted the Barr Foundation-funded intervention “COVID-Safe Cooling (CSC) Strategies Grant Program” transition from a short-term to a long-term solutions program, focused on community-driven interventions for extreme heat and community resilience building.
Coordinated community-engaged research aiming to reduce take-home lead exposures among construction workers in the Greater Boston Area under the supervision of Dr. Diana Ceballos. Conducted outreach in community-based organizations, managed relationships with community stakeholders, recruited participants in the Greater Boston Area, and delegated responsibilities to a group of 4 graduate research assistants.
Translated into Spanish and evaluated online educational materials for the community health intervention of the RECLEAN Pilot Study. Facilitated online educational sessions using the software Articulate 360.
Assisted in the creation and development of research projects studying human-environment interactions focused on qualitative data collection and analysis of pre-existing primary literature under the supervision of Dr. Tania López-Marrero. Worked independently and collectively to conduct systematic and annotated literature reviews, develop and conduct interview protocols, and transcribe and analyze interviews.
As part of the Tropical Ecology Laboratory, studied the phenotypic variation of the Puerto Rican monarch butterfly, under the supervision of Dr. Catherine M. Hulshof.
