My passion to serve older populations and make an impact within communities lead me to pursue my education in public health and gerontology. I aspire to enrich the lives that surround me and make it my goal to ensure everyone is given the opportunity to a high quality of life. As a public health professional, I strive to be an advocate for the older adult population and those within my community. While attending The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, I was given opportunities that complemented my knowledge about older adults and the impact they have within our society. These opportunities allowed me to serve those who have dementia and learn the need for respite care. Having this experience has allowed me to learn exceptional programming skills, such as planning and implementing activities. I am excited to move forward in my career path and apply my skills and knowledge attained from my experiences and my time as a BSPH student. Lastly, a quote that always motivated me and encouraged me to keep moving forward was; If you can believe it, and the mind can conceive it, then you can achieve it.
