About

I am currently pursuing Turkish language courses at Çukurova University, Turkey. I completed my BSc (Hons.) in Agriculture with a CGPA of 3.63/4.00 from Khulna University, Bangladesh. My research interests focus on agronomy, crop stress physiology, soil science, applied entomology, plant genetics and breeding, and sustainable agriculture. My research experience includes studying crop responses to soil salinity stress, analyzing growth, physiological, and yield traits. I have also conducted entomological research on parasitoids in the Biocontrol Laboratory at Khulna University, examining the effects of temperature, relative humidity, and photoperiod on their development and performance within integrated pest management (IPM) systems. Additionally, I have hands-on experience in plant genetics and breeding techniques, including plant tissue culture, DNA extraction, and laboratory and field experimental design. I am proficient in data analysis software such as OriginPro, SPSS, Minitab, Statistix, STAR, ArcGIS, and RStudio. I am passionate about climate-resilient agriculture, sustainable food systems, and global food security.

Experience

  • TÖMER ÖĞRENCİ at Cukurova University
    Oct 2025 - Present · 10 mos

Now, I am a master student of the field crops department under the Agriculture facility.(Şu anda Ziraat Fakültesi Tarla Bitkileri bölümünde yüksek lisans öğrencisiyim.)

  • IPM (Integrated Pest Management) Research Assistant. at Biocontrol Lab, Khulna University
    Mar 2025 - Sep 2025 · 7 mos

I worked an experiment on Pest Management through biopesticide for achieving environmental resilience under the direct coordination with Dr. Shimul Das, Professor, Biocontrol Laboratory, Khulna University, Bangladesh.

  • Internship Trainee at Department of Agricultural Extension- কৃষি সম্প্রসারণ অধিদপ্তর
    Jan 2025 - Apr 2025 · 4 mos

In this Internship time I learned and practically applied with the local farmer of different cultural methods of agronomic crops (like as Rice, Maize, Wheat etc.,) , Horticultural(Crop Botany) crops (Like as Cauliflower, Cabbage, Tomato, Chilli, Capsicum, Eggplant, Squash etc.,) Tissue cultural crop such as strawberry and also learned about IPM technique for quality food production.

  • Khulna University (5 yrs 1 mo)
    • 4th Year
      Jan 2024 - Jan 2025 · 1 yr 1 mo

Learning outcomes of this year: ▪ Agronomy: ✓ Prepared the layout of an agricultural farm, ✓ Learned about the different cropping systems and sustainable agriculture, ✓ Crop-cutting experiments and estimation of production were also practiced. ▪ Agricultural Extension: ✓ Plan an extension program, training program, and extension trip. ✓ Designed annual plan and calendar of work. ▪ Entomology: ✓ Operated and maintained pest control appliances, developed an integrated pest management program of insect pests, and handled and used pesticides in different conditions ▪ Horticulture: ✓ Practiced extraction and processing techniques of seeds of selected vegetables. ✓ Estimated the cost of vegetables and fruits. ✓ Developed skills in pot culture and practiced nursery management. Practiced the field layout for planting, manuring, fertilizing, pruning, training, and other intercultural operations of fruit crops. ✓ Determined the maturity indices of fruits. ▪ Plant Breeding and Molecular Biology: ✓ Tissue culture (Callus, embryo, shoot tip). ✓ Practically worked on wheat embryo culture and cultivated these wheat plants in the field. ✓ Use different techniques of in vitro propagation. ▪ Plant Pathology: ✓ Applied Koch’s postulates by using fungi, bacteria, nematodes, and viruses ✓ Identified fruits, vegetables, and cash crop diseases in the laboratory and field. ▪ Soil Science: ✓ Estimated the soil organic carbon and estimation of organic matter. ✓ Determine different plant nutrients in the soil. ▪ Thesis: Completed thesis work under Prof. Dr. Mohammad Bashir Ahmad and Prof. Dr. Shimul Das

    • Undergraduate Research Assistant
      Nov 2023 - Dec 2024 · 1 yr 2 mos

As a research assistant, I worked with Professor Dr. Debesh Das and his team. His research used different treatments like Vermicompost, Trichoderma, seaweed extract (SWE), Silicon, etc., against soil saline. Day by day, crop production decreases due to soil salinity increases. This type of research was conducted to sustain crop production. This entitled project name was "Promoting growth, yield and fruit quality of bell pepper through seaweed extract and Trichoderma asperellum of coastal saline soil in Bangladesh".

    • Bachelor Thesis
      Mar 2024 - Aug 2024 · 6 mos

Conducted A Thesis on the “Impact of Ashrayn (Shelter) Project on Socioeconomic and Livelihood Status of Its Inhabitant” funded by the Agricultural Extension and Communication Laboratory and supervised by Professor Dr. Mohamad Bashir Ahmed and Professor Dr. Shimul Das, Agrotechnology Discipline, Khulna University.
